Belize!

We were suppose to go snorkeling in Belize...however, they had a storm blow through right before and pretty much all water activities were cancelled.  Boo!  So we took a ferry in and walked around until we found a tour to do.  It wasn't an excursion booked through Carnival but some fellow cruisers were doing it too so we felt safe enough.  We noticed on the ferry to the island that our battery wasn't working.  It was such an ordeal to get on and off the boat (ferry ride took forever to load, get to the boat, unload and then repeat) so we found a nice little disposable.
great quality right?!
So we start the tour with a "city and country" tour, which is basically us just getting to where we are going.  :)
Looks like a yummy place to eat!  ;)
After about 30 minutes we end up in the middle of nowhere.  It was actually where a guy lived that had become friends with some monkeys.  The monkeys made their way to where we all were after a about 30 minutes and we all got to feed them bananas!  While we waited on them we got to eat some seriously good tamales.  His grandmother made them and he has actually been working on building her a restaurant on his property.

his grandma's restaurant...one day!

again...pictures are refusing to flip!
That monkey had a grip!!

After the feeding the monkey we got to see some of the cool stuff he and his uncle made.  We bought a really neat bird house made out of a coconut!  Then we loaded back in the van to see some more of the country and city on the way to our next stop...a Rum factory!  While we were walking around a guy actually came up to us and asked if we were in Mahogany Bay the day before.  We said yes and he said he remembered us! ha!  He apparently does alot of business with this particular rum factory because he made sure they gave us the royal treatment.  :)

After the Rum tour we headed back to where we started.  We walked around for a bit before getting on the ferry to head back to the ship.

I did a little driving on the way back.  :)
That night was the second formal night so we got dressed up and headed to dinner.  We followed it up with a show and ended the night in the comedy club!
Next up...Cozumel!
