Poppy retired!

We headed to Dallas on Saturday for Poppy's retirement party!  We came in a little early so we could stop and see Nanny.  We brought lunch and enjoyed eating and visiting with her.  The girls had made her a little trinket box and they were excited to bring it to her too...
then they were busy playing outside while we visited...

It was so good to see Jerem'y beautiful Nanny!
Then we headed to the PaRtY!  It was such a cute set-up and lots of fun was had celebrating Jeff!
After that we headed home…late, but after a very fun filled day!

Fun family day...

We started Saturday off looking for an old entertainment center to redo as a dress-up station.  No luck!  But we did find the coolest shop!  They had ice cream so the girls loved it too!  They had all kinds of neat old stuff outside that the girls found super interesting!

Next up, we loaded BOTH cars completely full of things to donate.  Can I just say it was crazy freeing to get rid of two cars full of stuff?!  Now I want to go through even more stuff.
Then we headed to the compassion project.  The girls enjoyed walking through their "lives" and hearing their stories.

At the end they both picked out a little girl to sponsor.  We are excited to get to know these two precious girls and to help ease the burden just a little.  I would highly recommend going through one of these if you get the chance.  It is so easy to get caught up in our lives and "problems" and forget just how blessed we are.  This was eye opening.

Crazy pretty day...

The weather has been just gorgeous!  We have been just playing at our little park, riding bikes, or playing in our backyard, so I thought it was time for a trip to the real park.  ;)

They had a blast and being "free" in the sunshine was the perfect way to unwind after school!

My little Reese started school!

Oh my goodness…heart broken but so proud at the same time.  My little started a two day a week Pre-K!  She was a little hesitant, but excited too.  She happened to start in PJ day…awesome right?!
We started the day with a cinnamon melt...
Then we headed to school!  We had already met her sweet teacher (she actually added a spot just for Reese), so that helped.
I gave her a quick hug and kiss and told her I loved her and then bolted before she saw me cry!  I had to stand in a corner in the hallway to compose myself because I'm sure I looked like a basket case!  She did so so great though!  I had a friend check on her shortly after I left…and then I called up there after lunch, and she was doing great!  She was excited when I picked her up and she told me she missed me.  I know I missed her!
We picked Ryne up from school shortly after and this was her "walking"…she just wanted me to hold her…so I did!  ;)  I melt for this big pre-k girl!

Shen Yun...

Jeff and Diane treated us to an amazing play/show in Dallas.  We were so excited because it was all Chinese dance.  We got to their house in time for lunch and relaxing on the porch before heading to the play.
Reese loves sitting and listening to the pool!
We took two cars because Jeremy and Jeff were going to a hockey game after.  The girls were super excited...

and they were both memorized during the show...

After the play we went to the Mall for the girls to use one of their giftacrds from Poppy and GranDi…BuildABear!  The girls loved picking out new friends!

The boys headed to their game while we finished up at the mall.  Then we grabbed dinner at an amazing hole in the wall burger joint before heading home to get these tired girls in bed.

The next day Uncle Lance came over for Christmas.  We opened gifts, ate lunch, and then hit the road. The girls got American Girl gift cards from Lance, Poppy, and GranDi and Ryne got one from Santa too…so they were dying to spend them!

 Ryne picked out Leah...
 and Reese got some twins!

They had so much fun looking around and picked out a few accessories.  They have their eyes on several more though!

Then we visited the little bakery and hit the road back home.  It was a really fun weekend!

NYE...

We had so much fun NYE!  We started the day with a trip into Houston to visit the Chinese play place. They girls LOVED it!

They played their little hearts out!  Then we headed home to get ready to go to the Brewer's house for NYE dinner and fireworks.  The kids had fun eating and playing inside but it didn't take them long to want to go pop some fireworks.

It started raining a bit while we were out there…but that didn't stop us!
We enjoyed hanging out and the kids played so well together!  We headed home around 10 and settled in to watch the ball drop...

I may or may not have been the only one that made it up until midnight!  ;)  Happy New Years!  We are so looking forward to what 2016 holds.  2015 was amazing…but I think 2016 will be even better!
