Eye surgery day...

We've anticipated and prayed over this day for awhile.  Our little guy is having surgery to remove a cataract that is taking up almost all his vision in his left eye and replace it with a lens implant.  Surgery is scary anytime...but eyes seem so fragile!  We were up and there before the sun even came out.  We had to wait for a bit and were very thankful for Barney!

Once we were in the room her knew something was up.  They gave him some "tipsy juice"...and I can tell why they called it that.
He was so giggly!  Precious little boy!
The surgery took a little over an hour.  He had a hard time waking up and would cry until he fell back asleep.  That was super hard to see.
It took us a long time to leave.  Once we made it out of the surgery center he flipped out when we tried to put him in the car so we walked around the parking lot for about 30 minutes (with my bum knee!).  We finally got him somewhat settled but it was a long drive home for our sweet boy.  Thankfully he crashed for most of the day.  Sleep was the best thing he could do.  So I held him while he slept.

My parents were such a big help!  They took Ryne to school and stayed at home with Reese until we got home.  They left a little after lunch to head back to Camden.

That afternoon we had to go back to the eye doctor to have his bandages removed.  He handled it so well!  He seemed to get most of his energy back after that!

We had to keep the shield on for a few days and he handled it so well!
He still played and the hardest thing was trying to keep him from running and jumping!

We went back to the eye doctor (our 2nd home! ha!) at the end of the week and they said no more shield during the day...yay!

Now we will start patching the "good" eye for a couple hours a day to give his left eye alone time with his brain.  So far Jeter is handling it all like the little warrior he is!  So proud of this boy!

Ryne turns 9!

Where did the past 9 years go?  It has gone by too fast for sure!  We celebrated Ryne all weekend long...she is a girl worth celebrating!

To start the festivities...cupcakes for her class!
Next up, party time!  A friend came home with Ryne after school so she could ride to the party with her.  Ryne picked a trampoline park for her party and was pretty darn excited to get out there and jump!
 Jeter was pretty excited too!
This is the place with the little ninja warrior course...

Soon lots of her friends were there and craziness ensued!  Turns out it was a blacklight night (I thought just the party room was going to be this way)!  The kids had fun but it was definitely a lot crazier than I planned!  ha!

This girl is ready for pizza and cupcakes!

We rounded them up long enough to eat and sing happy birthday!  I love this girl so big!!
Pretty soon we were handing out party favors and saying goodnight!
The next day was family party time!  PapPaw, GiGi, Pops, and GranJan were there to help us celebrate!

After visiting, eating, and opening presents it was time to head to the soccer fields for Ryne's last game of the season!

The next day was Ryne's actual birthday!  This girl was super excited to take her daddy to ride horses!

They had the best time and my horse loving girl pretty much thought this was the greatest day ever!

They had a blast!  Once they came home, Jeremy and I left the kids with PapPaw and GiGi because I had to make a little trip up to urgent care.  For some reason I woke up that morning with my knee like this...
Thankfully this goofball made the time pass quickly!  ;)

Then we were back home to keep celebrating this girl!
Ryne Michaela...you are amazing!  You have flipped our world upside down since the day you were born and we wouldn't have it any other way.  You have a BIG personality, you are competitive, driven, helpful, kind, thoughtful of others, and I know God has big plans for you.  I love you all the way to the moon and back!

October randomness...

October flew by!  It was a busy month, but aren't they all?!
This came home from school and it cracked me up!  Good to know the important part of her summer was documented!  lol!
Mornings around here can be rough!  Every time I try to make a bed there is a kid in the way!  ha!

some days you have to drop everything and just snuggle the boy...

 bubbles make baths more fun!
 Cutest preKer ever!
 Love this kid!
even when this is how he is 90% of the time in the car...
 Park for the win!
 Cute little bed hog!
 crazy driver!
I asked Jeter what happened and he said "dogs"! Yeah, they were nowhere around!  ha!
 cute!

good ortho appt = frozen yogurt!  ;)
Our little guy had to have a minor surgery.  He did great but it was so hard to see him so upset when they took him and then again while he was waking up.  :(

He couldn't be unsupervised so I got to watch him nap!
all smiles when he woke up!
Tired kids after a soccer game!
baking treats is almost as fun as eating them!  ;)
It's still hot...so ice cream for the win!

Ah...my poor boy fell at CFA and busted his sweet head open.  So we spent a couple of hours at the ER.  So thankful that Katie was a CFA too and could take Reese home with her.
He was seriously so brave and tough.  Poor guy!
The next day we went to Reese's school carnival...

Then Ryne had super hero day!
and I got to drive to LR for a girls night!  Reese wanted me to wear this bracelet to remember her!
Kristen and I had the best time going to dinner and then the Kris Allen concert...

Then it was lots of girl talk at the hotel.  I had to leave before lunch to head home but it was a great break with a great friend!

On Sunday it was pancakes for dinner...yum!
Another busy month!  Some not so great moments...but lots of sweet and special times!
